Rinken is a small cafe and bar near Yasaka Shrine in Gion, Kyoto, serving alchemy coffee, Kyoto-area beer, and butter croissants. Coffee is brewed with a distinctive siphon and served in cups over 100 years old. The space seats six to seven people at counter seats, each fitted with a small door, and the owner tells stories about Kyoto's history and events. The toasted croissants sell out depending on the time of day.
