Kissa Kokyougoku

Kissako Kyogoku is a small restaurant in an alley near Kiyomizu-dera where you sit on tatami and eat Japanese home-style food. The meal includes soba noodles, green pea rice, rice, miso soup, and several side dishes, with ice cream served at the end. An older woman brings the food one item at a time and handles everything from tea to dessert. Smoking is allowed indoors, so you eat while smelling cigarette smoke.
