Kansendo Monaka is a Japanese confectionery shop a five-minute walk from Gion Shijo Station in Kyoto. It sells toridori monaka, four sections filled with seasonal anko, and mizu yokan available only from April to September. The shop opened in 1884, and orders are placed by pressing a call bell instead of at the entrance. Staff responses are brusque and limited to what is necessary.
