Nekokura Hostel sits in a residential neighbourhood about a three-minute walk from Chiyo Kencho Station in Fukuoka. A cat shelter occupies the first floor, and the cats can be seen through a glass window from 10am to 8pm. Check-in is unmanned and self-service, so the day before arrival you send a photo of your passport by email and receive passcodes for the entrance and the room. There is no elevator and the rooms are small, which makes carrying a large suitcase up to the second floor inconvenient.
