At the top of Dongbaekseom, this historical site has a statue and relics honoring the late Silla scholar Choe Chiwon. An explanation there states that the name Haeundae comes from Haeun, Choe Chiwon's courtesy name. A statue and a description of the figure stand in the plaza, and visitors can go up and down by choosing between stairs and a slope. There is no view of the sea.
