May 18th Memorial Cultural Center

The May 18 Memorial Culture Center is located in Gwangju's Seo-gu district, near the Sangmu district. It has two permanent performance halls and an open exhibition space, and the surrounding park has walking paths lined with metasequoia and cypress trees. From the Owoljeong observation deck in the middle of the park, visitors can see the surrounding scenery, and there are spots to pitch a tent. At the memorial hall at the entrance, the names of people recognized as victims of May 18 are engraved.
