The May 18 Memorial Park is in Seo-gu, Gwangju, at 61 Sangmu Minju-ro. Bamboo and black bamboo groves run through an old forest, and a wall behind the statues is engraved with the names of the victims. A statue resembling a Pietà stands in the memorial hall beneath the central space. Visitors can walk their pets in the park.
