The Gwangju National Museum in Gwangju collects, preserves, and displays cultural heritage from the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions. The first floor holds a permanent exhibition hall centered on ceramics excavated from a sunken ship off the coast of Sinan, along with a special exhibition hall, and the second floor holds a local history hall. Admission is free and parking is free for three hours. The garden displays stone pagodas, stone lanterns, and pillar base stones, and the surrounding grounds are laid out widely.
