Goseong Tongil Observatory sits inside the civilian control line at the edge of the Geumgangsan range in Goseong, looking out over the East Sea and Geumgangsan. On clear days North Korean territory, North Korean guard posts, Birobong Peak of Geumgangsan, and the East Sea coast are visible. A digital telescope on the fourth floor offers free views of North Korea, and the DMZ Museum and the Korean War Museum are nearby. Visitors apply in advance through an app, buy a ticket at the entry report center, and go through vehicle registration and a training video.
