Homyeong Lake is a man-made reservoir at around 500 metres above sea level, reached by bus from Sangcheon Station in Gapyeong. It was built for Korea's first pumped-storage power plant, and a lakeside trail runs alongside it with viewing points. Private cars cannot drive up to the lake, so visitors park below and take the bus or walk about 3.8 km, roughly an hour. A gallery cafe and family bicycles are available at the lakeside, though when the bus is not running the uphill walk takes over an hour.
