Hwangtae World is a restaurant in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, near Yangcheon Hyanggyo and the Gayang interchange toward Gungsan, specializing in dishes made with hwangtae, or dried pollack. It serves hwangtae-tang, hwangtae-gui, and hwangtae-tteokguk, and the hwangtae-haejang-guk comes with a milky, rich broth and a raw egg added at the table. Customers order hwangtae-yachae-jeon and house-made baek-kimchi alongside it. The hwangtae-tang set meal includes baek-kimchi, seokbakji, and mu-mallaengi, and the kimchi is made in-house; at lunchtime the restaurant is crowded enough that a wait forms.
