Imdang-dong Catholic Church

Imdang-dong Catholic Church stands at the intersection by the entrance of Gangneung Seobu Market. It is a modern Gothic-style church, with a bell tower, roof, buttresses, and stained glass still in place. After the 1866 Byeongin Persecution, believers who fled formed Catholic villages in the Yeongdong region, and an 1882 church statistics table records 42 believers in the Samjeongpyeong Catholic village in Gangneung.
