Gangneung Hyanggyo is a Joseon-era educational institution located inside Myeongnyun High School, near Gangneung Station. Its Daeseongjeon, Dongseomu, Myeongnyundang and Naesammun are designated treasures, and the Myeongnyundang has a numaru-style structure. Founded in 1313, it offers a short guided explanation of the buildings and history upon request to a docent. Because it sits inside a high school, there is no separate parking lot.
