Songdaemal Lighthouse stands on the coastal cliffs north of Gampo Port, looking down over the East Sea and the port. Between the rocks in front of the lighthouse, which is ringed by a grove of black pines, clear water collects and draws snorkellers in summer. The Gampo Fisheries Cooperative installed a light there in 1933, and it was first lit as an unmanned lighthouse in 1955, with a light experience exhibition hall beside it. Parking space is limited and the access road is narrow, making it difficult to park.
