Mount Fuji, seen from Fujikawaguchiko, is Japan's highest mountain at 3,776 meters and can be viewed from a distance or climbed directly. Climbers can take the Yoshida Route or the Fujinomiya Route, and the summit offers views of sunrise. On the Fujinomiya Route, one case started at 8 AM and descended at 5 PM, and symptoms of altitude sickness can appear from around 3,000 meters. The descent is especially hard because the path is steep and gravelly.
