Izakaya Nonoya

Nonoya is an izakaya in Osaka that serves grilled chicken and chicken nabe, with a customer base made up mostly of locals. For the grilled chicken, diners cook raw chicken by cut over a tabletop grill and order fried chicken skin and a scallion salad alongside it. When grilled dishes and nabe are ordered together, the grilled dishes come out first and the nabe is set up near the end of the meal, after which rice porridge can be added to the nabe. Smoking indoors is permitted, which is uncomfortable for non-smokers.
