Mitsutera is a Buddhist temple on the first floor of a 15-story hotel facing Midosuji, about a 3-minute walk from Namba Station in Osaka. Founded in 744, its main hall was built in 1808 and survived the air raids; it enshrines a Juichimen Kannon. Visitors can join the morning service at 7:30 a.m. every day and see the sutra chanting, ceiling paintings, and Buddhist statues up close inside the main hall. The grounds are small, so traffic and street noise from Midosuji are loud.
