Hoanji Nanboh is a small Buddhist temple in Osaka that enshrines Benzaiten, one of the Seven Lucky Gods, and is about a five-minute walk from Nipponbashi Station. Its main image is Yakushi Nyorai, and it is the first of the 88 sacred sites of the Settsu Province pilgrimage. According to tradition, Prince Shotoku founded it about 1,400 years ago, and the current buildings were rebuilt after a 1945 air raid burned the temple down. Goshuin are sometimes written on the spot and sometimes handed over as pre-written paper, so quality varies.
