Dangsan sits above the 168 Stairs in Busan and is a shrine for the village guardian deity. Twice a year, on the 16th day of the third lunar month and the 16th day of the ninth lunar month, a Dangsan rite is held around 7 a.m. to pray for the village's prosperity and peace. After riding the monorail to the top of the stairs and walking a little further toward the summit, you reach Dangsan. Dangsan was rebuilt in April 1993.
