Sapporo Hitsujigaoka Observatory is a hilltop viewpoint overlooking central Sapporo. A statue of Dr. William Clark and a flock of sheep are on the grounds, and lavender blooms in spring. Buses from Fukuzumi Station bus terminal to the observatory run once or twice an hour, and the walk from the stop takes 5 to 10 minutes. In winter the sheep are kept in a barn, and snow restricts access to some areas.
