Uji-cha-en

Uji-cha-en is an old tea shop in Osaka's Karahori shopping street that sells matcha and green tea leaves. It carries Wako and Marukyu Koyamaen matcha, gyokuro, black tea, matcha tools, and coffee beans it roasts itself. An English chart explains the matcha types, and the owner couple guides customers on how to brew tea and on the characteristics of green tea. A line forms in the early morning, it opens three to four times a week, and payment is cash only.
