Takoya Dotonbori Kukuru Hakata Daimaru is a specialty shop in the B2 food court of the Daimaru department store in Fukuoka's Chuo Ward, selling Osaka-style takoyaki and akashiyaki. The takoyaki is soft inside and out with large pieces of octopus, and diners add sauce, mayonnaise, katsuobushi, and nori themselves at the table. It opens at 10 a.m., and ordered takoyaki usually comes out right away, though a sold-out item means waiting about 10 minutes. Seating is tight, so a wait forms during busy hours.
