Takibiya

Chinja Takibiya is a Japanese-style izakaya in Tenjin, Fukuoka, focused on grilled fish and frequented by local customers. It serves a whole large grilled tilefish (okdom), grilled sweetfish, mackerel sushi, and tsukune, and the grilling of the fish includes a performance of sprinkling salt. Ordering is possible with a Korean menu, and starting with sashimi mori leads into straw-fired grilling, while the saba sushi is finished with a torch sear. English is not well understood, so communication is difficult.
