Bleu Fonce

Bleu Fonce is a cake shop on the second basement floor of Mitsukoshi in Fukuoka that sells shortcake, mont blanc, and mille-feuille. Its strawberry shortcake, gato fraise, contains soft sponge, lightly sweetened cream, and strawberries, while the chou à la crème is a long choux pastry filled with custard. Whole cakes can be bought in the evening without a reservation, and Christmas items are collected on the ninth floor rather than in the basement. The cakes are on the small side and priced high.
