El Nacional Barcelona

El Nacional is an indoor food court near Casa Batlló that sells meat, seafood, pasta and desserts in separate sections. Diners can order dishes such as squid-ink paella, dry-aged ribeye, and anchovies with olives from the individual counters or the central bar. The meat section opens at 1 p.m., paella takes about 20 minutes after ordering, and at the tapas section staff carry plates around while customers call out their orders. In the evening the lines are long, and the paella and some dishes are on the salty side.
