Jack's Bar is a local pub on the Chao Phraya riverside next to the Shangri-La Hotel, serving beer and simple Thai food. The kitchen turns out cashew nut chicken, phat si-io, phat thai and tom yum goong. Riverside tables can be reserved in advance, and food and drink orders close around 10:30 to 11 p.m. There is no air conditioning, and on weekend evenings the tables are packed close together.
