Wat Bowonniwet is a second-class royal temple near Khao San Road. The main hall houses a large Buddha image, Phra Phuttha Chinnasi, and shows art that mixes Thai and Chinese styles. Admission is free, restrooms are available, and the museum opens on Saturdays and Sundays. Rama IV, VI, VII, and IX lived as monks here, so locals outnumber tourists.
