The Hokkaidōritsu Hoppou-minzoku Hakubutsukan in Abashiri is an ethnology museum that displays the food, clothing, housing, and daily tools of northern peoples such as the Ainu, Inuit, and Sámi by theme. It compares and exhibits materials from Greenland to Alaska, Northern Europe, and Siberia, and also covers Okhotsk culture. Visitors can borrow a Korean-language audio guide for free at the ticket counter or listen to explanations via QR codes in the exhibition halls, and a visit usually takes about one to two hours. Without a car, it is difficult to reach.
