Kusu Service Area (Eastbound)

Kusu Rest Area sits on the highway toward Yufuin and Beppu, a small stop selling Yamanami yogurt and udon. The Yamanami yogurt is made with milk from a nearby farm, and the plain version has a strong, creamy flavor of the original ingredient with little sweetness. Tour buses bound for Beppu and Yufuin stop here, and the site has a large parking lot, restrooms, and a convenience store. The udon broth is on the salty side.
