Kichijoji Hanamaru Cafe is a self-service udon shop selling Sanuki-style udon and tempura, a few minutes from the south exit of Kichijoji Station. Tanttan udon, hiyakake, and kashiwa ten can be ordered and eaten quickly, and the noodles are chewy. It opens at 9 a.m., and the counter and table seating is ample enough for sitting alone or in a group. The shop is in a basement, so you go down a short flight of stairs.
