Iseya Sohonten is an izakaya in Tokyo that serves yakitori, yakiton and shumai, a five- to six-minute walk from Kichijoji Station. Skewers are grilled over charcoal, the yakitori comes with a choice of salt or tare, and the house-made shumai are large and juicy. The shop was founded in 1928, and the first floor holds a standing counter and shared tables while the second floor has tables and floor seating. Ventilation indoors is poor and the room fills with smoke.
