Padang Padang Beach sits in Uluwatu in southern Bali, reached by stairs down between cliffs to a small stretch of sand. The water is clear and shallow, used for swimming and beginner surfing, and at low tide the white sand and shallow natural pool widen. At the entrance there are toilets and shower facilities, same-day re-entry is allowed, and it is open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. There is almost no shade and the beach is narrow, so space runs short when crowds gather.
